FBV with POD HD yes or no?

I found an FBV for sale locally and really like them. The problem is finding a definitive answer to if it works with a POD HD Pro or Desktop.

Here says yes it does work: http://line6.com/footcontrollers/compatibility.html

Here says no it does not work: http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2413

So which one is it?

Thanks

It will work, but you can't take advantage of all the switches. You can only program the four channel switches and the switches that are labeled reverb, tremolo, modulation, and delay. The expression pedals, tap tempo, and tuner will work, though.

I use an FBV Mark I (old syle) with my HD Pro and it works great.  I believe the only functions that it doesn't do that the Mark II does is change setlists, which is accomplished by the Function 2 switch.

The Mark I still has all the looper functions (FX switch turns on looper mode, and the other buttons do 'undo'...etc) as well as all 16 banks for 64 patches.  You can assign the 'stomp, modulation, delay and reverb' buttons as any of the F1-F4 for any of the assignable FX (I think it does F5-F8 if changed to that in setup options)...same goes for the volume/wah/glide pedal and toe switch.

I don't care if it doesn't switch setlists...64 presets is enough.  I'm not sure what other functions phil_m is referring to that the Mark I can't do.

I prefer the Mark I...better quality switches, pedal and screen, imo.

The original poster is talking about the original FBV, aka, "Longboard". I think you're referring to the FBV Shortboard. The Longboard had a bunch of other switches that the Shortboard doesn't.

      This is the Longboard:

The switches labeled Stomp 1, 2 & 3, Amp 1 and Amp 2, and Favorite Channel won't do anything. I'm not sure if the FX loop switch turns the looper on. I would assume it would if that's what it does on the Shortboard. So it does work, but the only thing it really gives above and beyond the Shortboard is the additional onboard expression pedal. And, really, that's a lot of extra real estate just for that.

Yes, you are correct, phil_m....I was thinking Shortboard and I see what you mean about the Longboard's lack of function....never cared for them, myself.  I should have been more specific.  I own three of the Mark I Shortboards just to make sure I always have one...not just for my HD, but for the 4 Flextone III+'s that I have stockpiled.  Best theater pit gig amp, ever, imo.
