proposed change of Hardware in POD HD500

I have a POD HD500 since a year ago, and i really love it. But when i play live i've found that sometimes is hard to see the icons in the performance view (mostly when i play and sing and have to change between two or more presets). So, I propose for new versions of HD500 to get bigger the display and change the positions of all the controls next to it. Maybe like the picture attached.
This is just an opinion of and happy user. So, what do you think?
not terrible... but i think whatevers next will probably be alot different....
I agree... the icons are difficult to see when set up for "8 effects" being displayed.
It's significant cuz I can't always remember which is what, although I always try to assign the delay, mod, dist. to the same switch regardless of the preset/patch. It's been enough of a problem that I've gone back to "4 effects" per patch and just leave certain effects 'always' on.
I would venture a guess that whatever is next... incorporates a touch-screen. ![]()
actually... wouldn't it be great/simple if the FS's had colored LED's like the m13? then you'd have a pretty good idea what was where....
it's a similar problem if in the flow signal you put two or more effects of the same category. If a green LED means a delay effect, if i put two delays in signal flow (ex. one short analog delay and a long stereo delay) that means two green LEDs and the two icons in the performance view says "dly". I think that the issue is the info that give the icons in the performance view are simple. Another possible solution (in my opinion) is put a simple display in top of every footswitch with the name of the effect (name editable via edit software) but i know that increase the cost of production
This is just an opinion for future productions of guitar processors, effects and stompboxes.
Wow.. a touch-screen... yeah, that will need a lot of protection. But that reminds me a certain brand of pedalboards
I sent an email over to Wilfred asking him if it was possible to incorporate 2seemy for the HD500.
I am sure it would be possible but is it wanted?
Basically 2 seemy is an interface that splits the screen data so you can connect a screen monitor via vga.
The "2seemy" adapter is quite pricey. If I were in Line6's shoes, I'd work on an iPad interface as a means of killing two birds with one stone.
I think 2seemy is great but is a "leftover" (i think that's the word, sorry but english is not my principal language) and the use of the VGA monitor is for studio and not fot play live. It would be great that the edit software work on iPad (just edit not for sound processor. Instead of that we can use Mobile In). I have not tried use a Tablet with Win8 and install L6 Monkey and HD Edit software but i think it maybe works (edit at least).
When I saw the original post it made me realize that there is a possibilty to get more screen size on existing models.
It is true 2seemy is expensive considering the cost of the whole HD. About half as much. Still cheaper than an AxeII and the Kemper.
While it is ideal for studio use I think it has better uses in a live situation. LCD monitors are cheap now, it shows your patches presets and other view data that is hard to see in a live situation.
2seemy also has usb connector but still only repeats what is on the main in built screen.
Having ipad /phone connectivity would be great too but likely involving a newer hardware release.
What is possible with 2seemy is existing HD500's. Wilfred I know could adapt it possibly on the HD500 only but it may not be wanted by users or he has other projects that have his interest.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
