POD X3 Live Installation Error: Code 10 Device Cannot Start

HELP!!! I'm trying to install my POD X3 Live and keep getting the code 10 "Device Cannot Start" error. I'm running Windows XP Pro and using USB 2.0 PCI card. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the POD X3 Live, the drivers, and even all of the USB devices on the computer. Is this a Registry problem? Is there a downloadable fix? Is there a plug and play update coming? I've had this thing for a year now and this is the 100th time I've tried to install it. I'm very frustrated! Can anyone help me? Please.

I may be wrong, but I think I recall reading in this forum that the USB port must be direct for the X3 to work properly - no USB hub and no PCI card. If you have an available USB 2.0 direct port you could try that. Again, I may be wrong on this.........but just trying to help.

  Define "direct". Built-in USB controllers are still connected via the PCI bus.

    I'm not sure how to define 'direct' in a technical sense. All I know is from a perhaps faulty memory of previous posts on this. I think I recall that some X3 users have reported having problems with USB PCI cards and USB hubs (even internal ones that are sometimes behind a multi-port front panel access on desktop PCs). In some cases these problems disappeared when they used a different USB port. I used the term 'direct' just to distinguish between those situations - it's not a technical term.
    
    Regardless of the definition, if the original poster has a chance to solve the problem simply by using a different USB port, it's worth a shot.

      The PCI cards has been a solution to some audio issues - not a problem.

      point number 5 discusses the use of the PCI as a solution to some chipset incompatibilities.
      I had to get one for my PC back when I owned a XTLive to get rid of clicks and pops in the audio.

This information is correct, you need a USB 2.0 connection for the X3 series to connect to your computer.

Help, I'm having the same problem and I'm going directly into my USB 1 (older computer). Does the connection require a USB 2?

  How to tell if you have USB 2.0 ports on your computer? If you are not sure, you can go to your Control Panel > System. Then click the Hardware tab & press the 'Device Manager' button. In the window that appears, click the '+' symbol found next to the last item marked 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers.' Under that heading, look to see if you have anything labeled 'USB2' or 'High Speed.' If you have nothing like this, you probably do not have USB 2.0 ports on that system & the X3 will not operate on that system properly.

Code 10 unit won't start is a problem with the Pod, not your computer. DO A GLOBAL RESET on your Pod and start the upgrade over, should work now.
