hello,
thanks for your help.
i have taken back the ux 2 to the shop. and exchanged it for an Edirol UA-25EX Audio Interface. but on this interface i got the same problems.
maybe some interesting information for you guys. so it's not the problem of the interfaces. I will contact HP and explain everything. i will keep u update if i know more.
greets randy
Hello,
first of all i got now an edirol UA-25EX with the same problems as the Line-6 UX2. i stay on this forum to help finding an solution for this problem.
i saw there where more people with same problem.
i have tried some new thinks:
i flashed my BIOS (still got the problems)
i installed AMD USB Filter ( Still got the problems)
i have installed my edirol on a Vista PC (and it works fine.)
i installed it on an other laptop (same model as mine) and got the same problems!!!
so we can conclude that it's not a vista problem but an problem by HP.
i have mailed HP i let you know!!
btw this my model
HP Pavilion dv7-2040ed
SoulRipper,
Thank you for aiding in our investigation of this issue as we have also found that the interfaces from other manufacturers have been experiencing these problems with these laptops as well.
Keep us posted!

you welcome
i have tried something new and it looks like everything works now.
i have my Soundcard connected trough an USB hub. all the crackling noise is gone.
it's an USB hub that is powered by it's self! so it is a power problem!!! i think the usb ports don't have enough power!
the soundcards get his power from the hub and send now the data to the Laptop!! if i connect it straight to my laptop the problems are back!!
so maybe someone else can try this.
sitecom USB Hub €20,- 4 ports
i hope this may works by others!!!
greets Randy
Hi Randy,
What model number is that USB hub? Can you provide me with a link?

hello,
Sitecom 4 port USB Hub
| aantal poorten: | 4 | Standaard: | 480 Mbps |
|---|---|---|---|
| USB standaard: | 2.0 | Type: | CN-060 |
i'm from holland but i think every USB hub wil work only if the hub has his own power source!
Hello,
Thank you for the information! We will pass this along to our research team to see if this helps their investigation.
Hello,
has anyone else got this working with active USB hub? Or has Line6 tried active hubs? I would like to hear more experiences from users before buying one.
Thanks

The powered usb hub thing didn't work for me. I've tryed EVERYTHING I saw in this site. I'm using Windows 7 and I beleive this is the root cause. The driver is probably not good enough yet. The next thing I will probably do is return my product (studio ux2) and never again buy anything form Line 6...
Same here, http://line6.com/community/message/138742#138742
and no answer from line 6 after 4-5 days.
The drivers are not working normally, and they are telling that they support win7 x64, it is a bs... Don`t know what to do...
I'm having issues with my pod farm as well, it only started happening a couple days ago, the sound that gets output has been a lot of dirtortion and noises and worbblyness and it just sounds horrible. I am using a UX2, along with just a squire telecaster custom. Podfarm has been working perfectly until recently, I got a guitar amp that I plugged into the headphones port on the ux2 and it worked fine that way for the first 3 days. After that however I have been getting all the sound issues and so on after about 5 minutes or normal playing.
If i go from just the guitar to the amp, everything is fine, so it's not the amp.
If I use the ux2 with headphones like I have been doing for a while, it still has issues. If I reset the comp everything goes back to normal but then after 5 minutes the wobbly, distortioness happens again. It's weird because it's been working perfectly till now.(I've had the ux2 for at least 6 months)
I have windows vista.
