Hi All,
I'm a long time POD user owning the POD XT Live and the POD X3 Live and subscribing to guitarport online. I am new to reason and record having just purchased the bundle last week. I also use Sonar Producer 8.0 and Ableton Live. I like a lot of things about the Phead software but I miss the ease and speed of SessionDrummer 2 in Sonar. I use the Redrum machine with each instrument set to it's owns mixer track so I can use that great mixer in record. Is there a faster simpler way to acomplish this. I am not a drummer so the ID8 isn't a good solution for me. Also, is there a faster way to repeat clips than using copy and paste? Anyway, I love the synths, vocoder, and unlimited effects and tracks, besides the main mixer with Master compression which is unbeatable.
Hi guys,
I use Reason/Record bundle and I find it to be the most 'musical' software out there. The whole interfaces and cables is what I love about it. It just makes sense. I'm mainly into industrial rock, so guitars and the awesome synths in Reason is what I love. As of late though, every now and then I make some electro tracks for fun. I swear by Propellerhead software, it just works the way I want it to.
I started off with a UX2 which I still have connected to my computer as my system audio device. But I'm using a X3 Live now for my interface and guitar effects. I have a Behringer midi u control 49 keyboard as well as a Korg padkontrol as midi interfaces.
With all of these elements, I feel like I can create the sounds that I am after.
Sadly there doesn't seem to be too much activity in this user group but here goes.
I've been using Record/Reason Duo for about a month now. Love it, this is a wonderful piece of software. I also use Ableton Live but that whole Propellerheads interface & its ease of use is so much more inviting.
My musical preferences are for maverick guitarists - Bill Frisell, David Torn, John Scofield's Uberjam ( saw him in Manchester playing a Variax 300), Joe Gore's new musical project Mental 99, Marc Ducret & many more.
Love to mix crazy guitar leads with the Reason Maelstrom graintable synth. That Kong drum machine is an awesome invention, isn't it ? My idea of sonic heaven.
Thinking of getting a HD 500 for use with Record, but half-thinking i may be better off waiting until the HD model set is actually supported in Record. That may be some time yet.
So a big hello to everybody, well at least the other 25 members of this group. I hear a Verbzilla style cavernous "Hello" coming right back at me.
HELLO! ![]()
Your post made me realize I need to get on here more often. I want to spend more time learning reason/record so maybe I will start checking this form more often. They are very cool and fun programs, just a little overwhelming for me.
The best way to tackle Reason/Record is in bite sized pieces.
Taking each device as a seperate entity. Looking at 3 synths individually, saving the all mighty Thor until last.
Looking at Redrum device & then the Kong device. Seeing how different they are. The same with the sample players - NNXT & NN19.
Then the effects - the Scream distortion is incredibly addictive when used as a send to effects device.
I wish though there was an authentic Bit Crushing device on there but that might come with future updates.
Anyway, nice to hear from someone on here - let's try & populate this place if we can..!
Stay in the mix and in the know.
