How do you reset a second, added on expression pedal

I had a problem with my podxt's expression pedal. I wanted it to go to zero so I tried the recalibration steps which line 6 kindly gave me in a ticket for support. It did go back but seemed to wander slowly and eventually wandered up to around 16% as the minimum - useless for tweaking some stomps such as pitch bender. So I bought a second expression pedal, an M-audio. I tried it and at first the second pedal, the add-on was at zero. However it wandered so I tried recalibration - oops, I forgot to unplug it while doing the recalibration process. Now amazingly the first pedal does zero and does it normally, BUT the second one is now way off so that I couldn't even use it for a volume, minimum is about 20-30%.
I tried to do a factory reset. No good. Reinstalled all the latest stuff, even though I had it, from the line 6 monkey. No good.
My Question is: If there is a process to recalibrate the first expression pedal, which I guess resets something like 'firmware' or software maybe, WHAT is the process to recalibrate that same firmware or software for the second, added on expression pedal.
After the problems with the first pedal line 6 told me to get the podxt to a repair person. If it was the physical pedal or pivot for the pedal I would have to do that, but if it is just some kind of software reset, why should I pay the big bucks for $50 an hour or more work, when I may have found a question or issue that isn't yet explored. I believe they call it finding a bug in the programme.
Anyone out there help me, or at line 6, please?
Thanks in advance. Aidan.
Hello,
You were originally referred to repair in June 2009 because the rubber strip on your XT Live fell off and would not go to zero when recalibrating. See the following link for more information on your second question:

Q: Can I calibrate the external expression pedal?
A: There is no calibration method for the external expression pedal.
Hi Andy thanks for replying. Yes originally did think the calibrating thing wasn't working because the rubber strip wasn't there. Now after feeling under the lip of the pedal on me friends Podxt I realise his is exactly the same. Then spoke with someone, I think, at line6 who suggested I take it in to check other possiblilities,,hey I dunno, I thought that was what they said.
Thing is the first pedal now works usually after the whole mess up with using M-audio EX-P from long and McQuade after talking at length about the problem. At first the new pedal did work properly. Think I might have left/did leave the second pedal plugged into pod when doing a reset. Now the second pedal doesn't go less than around 20-30% which sounds like I did something wrong when calibrating or using the second pedal for the first time. How the rubber strip comes into it I don't really see and have counted it a non-issue. I am going to take back the 2nd pedal as I can't even use it for volume at the moment. If the second pedal sends midi messages which are picked up somewhere in the pod, isn't there firmware that interprets them into sound signals. It would seem so. At the moment it interprets them as only going down to 20-30% when actually it is down at zero, and I did check the little level is down at zero on the pedal itself.
Maybe there's no answer and maybe there's geniuses in them there Line6 hills. If so please help. I haven't reread my first posting but if it sounded in some way blaming line6 that was lame and I apologize. Just frustration and not proof-reading. You guys always try to help me so much when I have called the centre.
Thanks. I await your help/answer. Aidan.
The other possibility is that the other expression pedal is spec'd differently than our EX-1. The EX-1 is somewhat unique in terms of its pot: http://line6.com/community/docs/DOC-1472
If your M-Audio EX-P is the same, then it may be the XT. But if not, I would try using an EX-1 to see if that works properly. If so, you'll know it is not the XT.
