Okay, here we go with Jam8.
It's quite a pop rock backing, but I'm thinking we can get some good riffs recorded to this one.
If you're new to recording your jams in this group, please see the docs page: http://line6.com/community/groups/rowbis-online-jam-group?view=documents and read the how to record your jam doc.
we need at least just a recording of your jam (without the backing track) and then it's nice to have a version of the backing with your jam, so forum members can have a listen to your whole jam+backing.
Any Q's please ask.
Regards
Rowbi
okay so here's my first take. obviously I'll mix in other players when you record something. and I may re-record my riffs anyway.
Let me know what you think.
Hey man, I'm in. I said I'd get involved on the next tone. I'll take a couple passes after I get the kids to school this morning and get going on it.
sounds good to me. as I've had a little time to play, I'm getting the jamming bug back.. so I'll definately try to be a little quicker at posting and then mixing going forwards.
Hey Rowbi--
I listened to the backing track, but I didn't listen to yours, yet. It strikes me that this song could really benefit from a melody line of some sort, where the solos are interwoven between the melody line. I'd be happy to try to come up with something -- it just seems like if there's nothing but jamming over this backing track it may be a bit much.
But, as always, this advice is worth as much as you paid for it, lol.
Cheers,
Fester2k

Hey Fester
yeah go for it. I can always fit what you do into the mix. hey we could even to do jams. one with just soloing over the top, and one with the melody and some soloing if we get enough jammers ![]()
Cheers
Rowbi
I played around with it a bit...it's a little rough...

no worries, there's definately plenty I can use.

Ok Rowbi, here's what I have. It's not perfect but hopefully you'll some useful parts. I didn't have time to work it out like I wanted to and looks like I won't anytime soon. I took a few passes on it and this was the last one.

i know in a PM I said I'd say what key it's in, etc, but I've not had the time to do that yet... but it sounds like you've worked it out well enough. nice1.
Thanks......Yeah well...... I cheated, sort of. You said it was in Db mixolydian, and that sounded right. I play in Eb and Db, and my 84' Gibson V w/EMG's is tuned 1 1/2 steps down for the Db stuff. Playing the lead on that guitar made it easy. I wanted to empathize that fact that I was playing on a guitar that's tuned down, so that why I did that one section of the lead in the lower register.
here's my take on it
lets see what rowbi do wit dis.......lol
i just had a listen and whoops i cut the ending on my mix.
rowbi you'll just have ta deal wit it.............lol.

thanks for the jam. sounds good to me, and I think I can handle the last few secs being chopped off ![]()
I'm actually quite busy this weekend, so it might be a couple of days, but I will do it soon.
Cheers
Rowbi
I'm going to take a pass at this if ya have room for one more in the mix.....
Here's the mix.....
here's the guitar track......
Thank Geeker.
I can certainly fit you in. but I think we'll say that's enough jammers for this one now, as mixing the 3 of you + maybe myself too will mean I should have more than enough jamming.
Watch this space, and I'll try to have this mixed within the week.
Thanks Rowbi.
oh....I have to say that I used my Variax 600 and POD Farm Platinum plugin for the guitar stuff. LOL
okay so i think I may have to put a limit on my jams in the future, as I'm not the best at mixing, and with 4 of you guys with your own jams, it wasn't the easiest mix, but I think the finished result is still good. and of course you've got your own whole jams posted on this thread, and they're all good ![]()
so check out the attached mp3
geeker played from teh start to 50secs.
dandaman327 played from 50s to 1m22s
sofnwhat played from 1m22s to 1m54s
geeker played 1m54s to 2m2s
dandaman327 played from 2m2s to 2m42s
donfrantz played from 2m42s to 3m46s
sofnwhat played from 3m46s to the end.
Cheers
Rowbi
Good job Rowbi, that couldn't have been easy.

lol, well it wasn't hard as such, as I like listening to different peoples riffs. but it was more a case of trying to make sure everyone had a good length of their riff within the mix, and also making it fit well. but it just about happened ![]()
Nice job, Rowbi! Thanks for all the work...it is fun listening to how different people integrate their playing into the jam track. And how you put it all together. Thanks for your time and thought to do all this.
