Someone from line 6 will see this and open up a support ticket for you. Give them a little time and they will get to you. They work pacific coast hours.

That means the previous owner had somethihng like GuitarPort (a subscription service) registered with the device. He will have to transfer his registration to another device (or cancel it) before you can remove your registration. Line 6 tech support can help you with that, but why do you want to remove the registration if it's already (somehow) successfully registered to you? If you're lucky and the previous owner no longer has any Line 6 defvices maybe you can persuade Line 6 to allow the remainder of his subscription time to remain on your account.
...
ive tried to connect my pod by using an new usb cable (1,5m) to my mac (intel 2.4ghz leopard 2.0usb)
The POD X3 series is not yet supported on the leopard OS. See one of the Announcements on the X3 Discussions home page
....and on my Windows Vista but nothing seems to work...
Now this is a problem. Vista should work for you. Make sure your PC has USB 2.0 ports, and that you're not using a USB hub - even an internal hub. Try differnet USB ports, preferably one in the back of the PC rather than the front panel. Use Line 6 Monket to update all X3 software, and let us know if that works. If it fails please provide exact details on where the process is breaking down.

I read that topic...but Leopard is supported but NOT Snow Leopard that's different!
On vista, im trying even right now to install the drivesr with monkey.
It downs the drivers...so i click ok,agree, next, then i reach a windows saying "plug in the usb device" and vista will get on screen another window that ill have to click on "trust always line 6 programs" and "install" but no windows appears... only an error that says "driver not found - error PV-M2TV321U" ... then i click ok and the line 6 install program says "you have been succefully installed drivers" but it dosnt...
When i re-open monkey no drivers was installed and i have to do that again...
Im using a macbook (vista is on bootcamp)...

Sorry - my bad about Leopard vs. Snow Leopard. As you can tell I'm not a mac user - so I'll drop out and hopefully others can help more.

Some of the USB ports on a macbook are on an internal hub.Try changing USB ports. Some of them are actually on an internal hub. Only one usb port offers a full powered, full speed bus. I think is is the front one is the one you should use. I do know the one in the back in on the same internal hub as the keyboard, trackpad, bluetooth, and camera.

On your vista box, you might want to try uninstalling any line 6 software including monkey and start over. You might have a corrupt dirver.

Go into device manager in vista:
Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.
Look for any "unknown devices" (try this with the x3 plugged in)
right click on unknown device or PV-M2TV321U and click Properties
Click on the Drivers tab at the top
Click Uninstall Driver
Try reinstalling monkey and then the drivers.

Hi , today i tried installing on another portable ... but 0 . (portable was a toshiba with windows xp ice but in Virtual Machine mode).
So i decided to get an Usb 2.0 PCI device for my tower pc (windows xp) and trying on it.
It cant install the drivers at all.... when i plug the usb on my pc, it told me that a new devices is found... then it cant complete the driver installation.
So i go to user panel and tried to install manually --- find new device hardware --- expert mode i re-direct my pc on C:program/line6/tools/dirver archive/pod x3... but nothing, it tells me "no software founded" :/
Now i dont understand if its a software or harware problem... pls help me.
ps. i wish some moderators can read this post and get a ticket for 2 issues.

You are going to have problems installing drivers for USB devices a lot of the time in a virtual environment. It depends on a lot of issues that I am not going to get into here.
You are having a driver issue. Try downloading the drivers directly from http://www.line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=2717 and see what happens.

Hello,
1) You are in an evaluation state for guitarport.com, which is why it is giving you that message. If you want to cancel your subscription, you can do so by going to "my account", then "guitarport online".
2) Yes, you are having driver issues. Once you have reformatted your computer, Please go the following link to download/install the latest Gearbox software for your Operating System, which also includes the Line 6 monkey intelligent updater and the latest drivers for your Line 6 product.

I have a question for you. On the XP machine, when you tried to install the POD drivers, what did your Device Manager look like?
Did you see any kind of yellow question marks or exclamation points anywhere in your device manager?
Did the device manager window sort of blink when you plugged the pod in? I really think we are just missing something obvious here.

OK. That's a good sign! That means Windows at least acknowledges that you have a device plugged into it.
Have you looked at the following Video Tutorial? Can you watch it and let me know at which point exactly you run into problems?

its at 4:10.
I click on "search auto drivers into the pc" then it says no software for that hardware found. Impossible to install the application. (or something like that)
Then i try to install it manual, selecting C:/prog/line6/archive drivers/podx3 and i got same.
However tomorrow ill get xt live... with 1.1usb ... cross fingers...- Report Abuse

OK. Instead of clicking on Install Software Automatically, can you select Install from a list or specific Location?
Try that and then choose "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install."
there should be a white box on the next page that should display your hardware drivers. Do you see that?
Also, in your device manager under Universal Serial Bus Controllers, do you see anything that says "Enhanced Host Controller"?

I dont have podx3 now , so im going by memories.
I got a list of my hardware in the white box(installed and not), one of that is at the top of the list witch is signed in this way "?(icon)USB Device" .
is that right?

That "USB Device" is most likely your POD. Now, can you tell me if your computer has USB 2.0 ports installed on it? That's why I asked if in your Device Manager you see anything that says "Enhanced USB Host Controller". Here, take a look at my screen shot.

OK. Well you have USB 2.0 ports so that's not the problem.
If you get a chance, can you plug your POD into your computer and go to your device manager and under Sounds Video and Game Controllers show me what that looks like as well?
