Hey, I'm not sure how the Pod Farm (iLok version that was free last month) Wah pedals etc. are controlled, but I was wondering--can you use the FBV EXPRESS™ MkII to control Pod Farm's Wah pedals?
Thanks,
- Jesse
Hi there!
i ABSOLUTULY NEED MORE INFO!
nOT YELLING!
Just that I washed my keyboard! And my Cap-Locs were on! ![]()
Which Line 6 Device are you using with this Express?
Because it does need a Line 6 Device!
Well, I only have the iLok version of Pod Farm... But the FBV Express has software that allows it to configure what MIDI parameters it's sending over USB, so if Pod Farm supported external MIDI controllers, then I'd be in business.
But I found some other threads on this site that say Pod Farm has no MIDI capabilities... which is terrible! You can't even control the Wah pedals with a MIDI mod wheel or anything!
I really hope Line 6 gets on this ASAP... I was planning on migrating my whole recording rig over to be Pod Farm-based, but this is really a huge hang-up.

Jesse,
POD Farm currently is not controllable via MIDI, though the FBV Express MkII CAN be used to toggle effects on and off in the Gearbox 3.70 software.

Since I do not have GearBox (I'm only an iLok user), when can we expect Pod Farm to be MIDI controllable? Do you have any idea if/when you guys are planning on adding it?
It's a great piece of software that is missing out on its potential because of this missing feature!
It certainly is a great feature and it needs to be added. We should be adding MIDI functionality in the next release of POD Farm. Stay tuned over the course of the next couple of months.

It seems to me that Line 6 has been saying that they are going to rectify the lack of midi control for POD Farm for the last 2-3 years in an update!!! I'll be surprised if the update ever comes, but they will keep saying that it will come in an update. It seems that the KB37 is a midi controller so it should not be that hard to implement midi on the POD toneport or studio products?? Also, they have it for the Gearbox, what's so hard and taking sooooooo much time to implement it for the toneport and studio products??? The products everyone expected it to be on. When they introduced these products was it not realized that this should have been a norm this type of product, as well as foot control????
What should be done is a revamp of the product to include midi control, foot control (for wah, dive bomb, and other effects), and keep the momentary and latch controls to move about the POD Farm software. The foot control and midi functionality would contribute to hands free operation and really make a kickass recording product when combined with the incredible tones produced by POD Farm, either stand alone or Plug in. Right now I have tried the Gearbox solution, but the tones seem thin when compared to POD Farm. I hope this helps in giving direction to the Line 6 product department that has heard endlessly about this. A new product upgrade wth a trade in policy would make many hundreds, if not thousands, of Line 6 users extremely happy.
Also, as you can see the Line 6 response was from October 2009 saying stay tuned over the next couple of months. This is now February 2010 and 4 months have passed, last I knew a couple was 2??? This seems to be he standard answer to the midi question either a couple of months or the next update. As I have said this have been going on for over 2 years!!!
I've found that Line 6 tends to be a little loose in it's timing terminology. A couple can mean just about anything. With that in mind, there has been a flurry of development, with updates for M13, M9, Spider IV, SV MkII, and soon for X3. Can MIDI control for PodFarm be close behind? I hope so. Maybe we'll get some of the cool new X3 effects too as a reward for being patient (I hope - fingers crossed)
Stay in the mix and in the know.
