I took delivery of my POD xt Live yesterday. Now I need to get it working. I'm a computer engineer and a guitar player, but when it comes to recording with the POD (or anything else for that matter) I'm a total beginner!
I have an Intel dual core motherboard and processor XP Pro SP3,, 2 x 400 GB Hard Drives and 4GB RAM. It has a built-in Intel Sound card (which nothing musical seems to recognize!) so this is diables in the BIOS and I put in an M-Audio, Audiophile 192 Sound Card. This computer will ONLY be for music.
Now I understand the POD xt Live acts as a Sound Card, so the question is, should I take out the Audiophile (which means I assume that I can't play music through my speakers from other muic Software (like Winamp)) or can I leave it in?
I would leave it in for use with other applications. I use the L/R outs on my PODxt direct in to my soundcard and it works great!

Thanks for the reply. I fiddled around for a while and then came to the following setup.
I left the Audiophile in. Set the PODxt to be the default and selected first the ASIO Drivers, which seem to work OK. Then I tried the WDM Drivers and they seem to also work very well.
If I select the MME Windows Default, I also get the sound through the speakers, but there is a bit of latency so I'm going with the ASIO for now.
I'm using n-track Studio and I'm getting to grips with it but it has some really irritating quirks.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
