My Review

Wasup fellow music lovers!!!

So I've had the KB 37 for roughly a month now. I must say it is a very impressive unit. The keys feel pretty good...I use it to trigger the instruments in logic 9 and I run other keyboards...guitars and basses through the audio input. The quality is solid. I am very pleased!!!

Tech support was very helpful...I forget the guy's named that helped me, but he's on this site somewhere. I also ordered the customized gig bag. In the smaller pocket, I'm able to fit my 13inch macbook pro...powercable....and portable firewire hard drive.

I have not figured out the transport controls yet, or how to effectively use the pod farm software. If I unplug the keyboard from my mac, I have to restart my mac in order for the unit work properly as an audio interface...sound becomes distorted...why it does this, i'm not sure. But once I restart, everything is good money.

I just ordered a nueman TLM 103 and Avalon preamp...I'll let you know how vocals come out when running the Avalon into the KB37.

Be well!

    Re: My Review

Why not take advantage of the pre-amp models in GearBox/Pod Farm and save yourself some money? I've found them to be more than adequate. In fact, our latest album has had several reviews where the improved vocal quality has been mentioned and the only variable that could account for that is the KB37, as I used the same mic as previously and, of course, the same voice.

My mic is a Peak Audio PSM-487N condenser mic. It is a rebranded version of a Behringer mic that was even cheaper than the Behringer version. If you listen to our music, you will understand that it's as good a mic as we need for what we do. You can get all our albums on iTunes or through Amazon's various sites [.com, .co.uk, .de, etc] or you can listen to snippets on our MySpace page - www.myspcae.com/novakill We also have some live videos on YouTube, although they pre-date the KB37.
