quick question

I am about to purchase a pod studio interface. I already own a podx3 pro. Do I need to use Pod Farm to get a cleaner recording and plug directly into the interface from my instrument or would it not matter if I plug into the X3 Pro and Run an xlr from the X3 Pro into the interface. The reason I ask is I don't like the idea of having to shell out more money to get the Pod Farm Platinum when I have everything it offers already on the X3Pro. WHat is the best solution here. Thanx
Ok please forgive me If I sound totally stupid! I was reding through the threads and found one about using the pod x3 pro as the sound card. I thought that I could do this when I bought it, but when I tried to record I was meet with inccurable latency issues. After messing with bunch of settings in the program, I called a few people who said I should get an interface. I thought this was a little strange since I was under the assumption I could use the X3 Pro as the interface. But, like I said, I am stupid when it comes to this. Well, I was looking through a thread about Sonar 8 and how you could configure the driver to ASIO from the Advanced tab. I thought I would try this before throwing down cash on an interface. Only thing is, I didn't see that option in my Advanced Tab. Then I saw the name of the program.... Sonar 1.3. Is it possible that I just need to buy a newer recording program?? I was given the program by a friend. If so what should I get??? Help if you can.
Hello,
Honestly I think that purchasing the POD Studio device would be a bit redundant for you since oyu have everything you need with the X3 Pro.
Your best option would be to route your signal digitally from the X3 Pro via USB to your DAW and then add any effects afterward with the POD Farm plug in.
In my opinion, the POD Studio won't add anything of value for you.

Your version of Sonar is very old so yes, I would suggest updating to at least version 7 of Sonar.
