Hi All, I am so frustrated that I can't get the update loaded, using the same setup as previous updates, same MID cable & Sysex librarian.
Changed the pause setting but cannot get it loaded. I get error 0x02 format error
Please help
Cheers Paul
hi, i'm getting this problem as well.. anyone got any ideas?
edit: and i'm using win xp, midi-ox and an m-audio usb uno.
thanks!
In Midiox 7.0.2 go to Actions - Send - Sysex File
(Do Not Select File - Click Cancel on the file select window)
Sysex View and Scratch Pad will be open.
in Sysex View and Scratch Pad click on Sysex
select Configure, a window will open - find Output Timing
and Check the box for Auto-adjust Buffer Delays if Necessary.
Click OK. in Sysex View and Scratch Pad click File - then Send Sysex file
find the file you want to send and let 'er rip!!
Alot of other people are having issues with the update too. Here are some other threads that are covering the same issue. You may find a solution in one of them.
Thanks, but still no success.
Line6 Guy's what do you say?
We give suggestions on what to use. That is all we can do. The update works perfectly from our side. There is such a variety of computers, interfaces, and sysex programs, we cannot figure out what is going on with each set up. It isn't on us if it doesn't work.
I do not mean this to seem cold, it is really not cold. But even my PC at work with the reccomended cable and program, I cannot get it to receive a midi dump back up and that is with our resident firmware midi genius helping me. It just doesn't work so I have to have someone else back up scenes when an artist comes by. My understanding is with you though, when a guy is frustrated trying to update it bums me out. It is like giving my son a present and he can't open it. ![]()
Keep up the search. Go to a friends with your cable and try it on their computer. That is what a guy in Argentina had to do ultimately.
I appreciate the help man, tried my windows laptop but can't get Midi ox or Send fx to find my usb midi cable! really could do with any suggestions. I won't give up but getting really hacked now.....
Hmm... Sounds like you may need to reinstall the driver for the USB/MIDI cable. Or try plugging it in to a different USB port. Or maybe the cable itself went bad. I don't know, just trying to think of anything else you can try. You say that you're trying your laptop, is that the second computer that you've tried it on? Any other MIDI interfaces you could try?
Success Finally! all that was need to find was the pause between messages - I set it to 185 msec and it worked.
I spent so much time trying different setting it was drivng me mad!
Thanks for all your encouragement.
Paul
AWESOME!!! Welcome to the 2.0 world!
using Macbook, Sysex Librarian, Prefs as follow:
Pause between played messages = 250ms
SysEx receive Timeout = 1 sec
Transmit Speeds = 100%
and all is good so far, about 75% complete right now.
Note that back when ver 1.07 was released, I too had this annoying Error message that others here now have. By setting the Pause slider to 250ms cured my headache.
Thanks, but still get the error......
hi paultm... i finally got mine to work by disconnecting the midi out from the m13, and just keeping the midi in connected as i patched... i was kind of scared at first but i didn't think that the m13 needed to send anything back to the computer anyway. when it was done i plugged the midi out back in and everything worked as normal. hope this works for you if you try it!
Thanks, I have tried this now and it failed but went further through the download, what setting did you use?
my 75% is now 100% and my M13 boots up fine now with 2.00.
the new models are very much appreciated. Thank you Line 6 people.
at what point did it fail paul? mine failed after recieveing the first dump, but there are like 4 that it has to go through. when i tried it again the second time it worked. keep at it man, the update is well worth it.
Hey everyone
I had the same problem.
I think it's very important to use a real USB MIDI interface. It was not working for me (any setting) using a firewire MIDI interface.
When I installed my old MAudio Uno, voilá! Smooth as a cream!
Hope it helps, for those who are desperate to get the new 2.0 tones and improvements.
Cheers from Rio

I disconnected midi out and it worked. I also disabled my screen saver, and anti virus software.
I tried for hours with firewire, but is didnt work. In the end used an old midiman USB midisport 4x4 and tried and didnt work. Disconnected midi out on the M13 and finally it worked.
I think I used no longer pauze, just plain 60msec.
Dont give up, just keep trying with other gear and use a USB midi device.
Transfered through MIDI OX. http://www.midiox.com/
Follow instructions carefully.
Goodluck, mine is 2.01 proof now:-)
