Hello,
Just thought I'd say hello after signing up to this group.
I'm not a beginner to the guitar but certainly no expert I have liked what I've heard in the jams already done and, was just wonder how often the group pulls these tracks together? Once a month as looks like posts are about a month apart.
I have Cakewalk but no longer runs in Vista due to sound structure upheaval in OS, downloaded audacity good but basic (but hey its free) hope to purchase a licence for riffworks in the future as liking the demo version. So no stranger to the editing side you've been doing and aware of the time it can consume. So hats off to you for getting that together for people here.
I use a Fernandes Guitar, Podxt, FVB shortboard and have a solid state Marshall head. Getting some lovely sounds I'd like to put to use here sometime.
I been using the groove tracks through Gearbox/GPO for now and look forward to your next track

welcome to the group
the idea of this group is not that I (as the group creator) post the jam tracks. It's that anyone (even you) can post a backing track (either one you've found on the internet, or one you're written) and then others jam along.
you can also ask if someone else wants to mix it if you're not into mixing the tracks.
basically just read the how to get started document on this group, and off you go. or just subscribe so you know when someone else posts on this group and you can get jamming.
at the moment I'm building a plexi clone, so I've not got the time to do a jam, but maybe someone else will.
Hello
Well here goes then!
All I've been having a listen (and play along) to the Gearbox/GPO tracks mentioned in first post and found that a good selection of them are available for download here,
http://line6.com/community/community/free_stuff/backing_tracks?view=documents
The files are in mp3 format and work in the audacity program mentioned by Rowbi. If no one beats me to it I'll pick one out and post it with my jam as a new thread, by the weekend if all goes well.
Mr_H
yep that's right, those backing tracks are good.
there's also some on www.guitarbt.comif you click on the downloads link at the top then look under 'J' for jam tracks ![]()
looking forward to your jam ![]()
Hello
Thanks for that link had a listen to a few now and all good just need to spend a bit of time with those scales now to gain some fluency. Sounds like I'm using to heavy of a picking action when I listen to the record tracks back, very bitty like stuttering through the runs instead of a graceful flow
Jam track now posted I will work on it.
