my backtrack will not playback (light is flashing green).

How exactly are you trying to monitor your sound? Do you have headphones plugged into the BT? Are you outputting it to speakers or a mixer?

The BT devices have a 90 day warranty but I'd still call our UK service team anyway to see if there is anything they would be willing to do for you. They are usually very helpful. Below is their contact information.
