Pocket Pod Vista driver issue

After much struggling and reading, I gather that because the Pocket POD is a class compliant MIDI device and that it should work with Windows Vista, no further help is being offered? I am very frustrated because my new Pocket POD doesn't show up as a MIDI device on either of my Vista computers - Windows just insists on looking for a driver.
Is there perhaps a kludge driver available?
BTW I have exhausted all possibilites mentioned here.
Hello,
Vista should detect the class compliant driver for Pocket POD. Have you tried connecting to a non Vista machine? Have you tried switching USB ports and USB cables?

the problem persists, but i've figured out how to work around it.
BTW many roland and m-audio products are class compliant but they issue windows drivers to give extra features plus to work around problems like this
i am looking into a mac for video editing, so this problem will probably just go away for me
