UX1 input levels are too low

Hi there,
I'm using UX1 as the interface to record guitar into my Mac using Logic 9 Express. In the channel strip settings it's saying that I'm peaking at around -22 db which seems way too low.
I'm assuming there's something wrong with my setup, but I don't know where I change this. Any suggestions?
thanks...
Can't anybody advise me?
I've been having a look elsewhere in this forum and it looks like this is a fairly commonly raised question.
As I'm a newbie to both PodFarm/UX1 and Logic, what I'm really trying to work out is, is a signal of -20 dB a problem, or is this what to expect?
The fact that the sound wave of the guitar basically flatllines when I record it worries me, but is this nothing to worry about?
Would appreciate some help from some experienced Podfarm and DAW people.... thanks!
Have you been into the Mixer section of PodFarm and tried the +18db boost button?
I use a POD X3L to record the dry (i.e. unprocessed) signal from the X3 to my DAW and the signal level is very low - also a basic flatline. But when I use POD Farm to process the recorded signal it comes alive - the low record level is not a problem at all. Have you tried using POD Farm to proces the low level? You can apply lots of gain with the amps and effects.
If you want to increase the level of the signal from your guitar you will probably have to pre-process it (e.g. a preamp?) before sending it throught the UX1. But I don't think youll need to do this. Let POD Farm do its stuff on the low level recorded signal.
Thanks for your advice. I've realised that what I see in terms of the soundwave in Logic is not so important versus what I can actually hear.
I was worried that the levels were too low, but they're fine on playback in the control strip meter.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
