I am using my POD X3 to record direct into Pro Tools 8 LE and cannot get the same sound when recording as the sound coming from the headphones of the POD. Why are the tones so different and how can I get the same sound from the POD in Pro Tools as I do from the POD to the headphones?
yeah I'm having the same issue...with the distortion more than with the cleans though. let me know when you get a response please Antsanc82@gmail.com thanks

I would recommend the SP/DIF interface from the POD X3 to the digidesign hardware SP/DIF input.
I am using the SP/DIF from the pod and pro tools interface. The sound quality is not nearly as good as it is when you use headphones connected to the pod.
Alot of things play a factor in this....
When you dialed in your tone you probably dialed it in with headphones. Your head phones and studio monitors probably have completely different freq. response.
I am not sure what kind of head phones or studio monitors you are using. If you are using your pod primarily with your studio monitors then you should really dial your tones in while listening through them. Think of it this way. If you dialed all your tones in while plugged into a 4X12 cab and then switched cabs to a 4X10 cab it is going to sound completely different. you always need to dial in on what you are listening to the most.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
