To buy an X3 or an X3 Live?

Hi All,

Just looking for a little advise. Can't decide between the 2 models. It seems like the Live (floor version) is about $100 more.

- Does the X3 have all the sames features and connections as the X3 Live. I went to the Compare products on the website and it was not clear to me?

Will be using mainly for home use with the occasional gigging. I noticed that the X3 comes with optional external foot switches and even a bracket to attach it to your mic stand. Is the X3 rugged enough to be taking out on gigs? Seems to be a lot of plastic on the desktop X3.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Peter

No - the X3 Live has more input/output connections. They  are:

    - an additional AUX input, allowing you to, for instance, have two guitarists playing different tones simultaneously.

    - XLR outputs, tailored for direct output to a PA system. This allows you much more flexibility in a live setting.

    - a CD/MP3 input, great for jamming along with external tunes, or for playing backing tracks in a live setting without needing your computer.

    - compatibility with Variax guitars.

    - several other features like Ground Lift and Guitar Pad switches.

    - designed for live play, with hands-free operation using footswitches.

If you plan to gig even occasionally I think the design of the X3L is much more suitable. I haven't done the cost comparison, but my guess is that by the time you've bought the optional footswitches and bracket you've made up the price difference, and you're left with a band-aid solution when you could have the device properly designed for the purpose.

    That's my 2 cents.
