when using 2 tones and the guitar out and the variax out can you get dual guitar sounds with seperate signal paths using these units. The variax uses it's digital out to send a signal to the fx unit but are you able to use the regular guitar out simultaneously through the other signal path for tone 2. The x3 pro I know has to inputs so it will probably be the better way to go but I am curious about this.
i think you can best to use two seperate amps to get real seperation of signal slight delay on one of them. you cant get two seperate guitar models though
If you have an x3pro there are 2 inputs that 2 seperate guitar players can use so the point is it could be used to create a signal chain with 2 seperate amp models so if one was accoustic and the other an electric lead patch you could do that with one guitar player. The thing is can I do that with the x3 live using a variax digital out and the guitar out to use into the analog input of the x3 live or do I need to use the rackmount pro to be able to do this? I prefer not to use amps at this point.
I have an X3 Live and a Variax 300. I am able to simultaneously use both the VDI and 1/4" outputs from the Variax to the respective Variax/Guitar inputs on the X3L. I then set up two Tones in the same patch/channel on the X3L, with one Tone input set to Variax and the other set to Guitar. Each Tone is processed separately within the X3L's Dual Tone patch.
Why do this if you can just set the tone 2 to same (or both to variax...)
The sound form both outputs its the same at all times!
