Variax Workbench v.1.58 fails after start (message: "Could not find Java runtime"). Followed by: "Could not init JINILoader"!
Java 1.6.0_17 is allready installed on my system and works! If I need Java 1.5 (like Workbench tells me during the installation), I dont find it (Please send me a WORKING Link, the link from the installation procedure is dead!)
I hope you can help me - many Thanks!

Speaking of which, I should have seen your reply in this thread before starting another question of mine of the same problem. My bad. At least I've found the solution... ![]()
Andy,
I love Line6 products. However, this issue is ridiculous. I would think/hope there is a patch coming to the Variax Workbench that allows for the latest Java Runtime Environment.
Bump -- again, its ridiculous that Line6 won't update Workbench to current Java versions.
Thats just lazy.
Note the 2007 - 2009 year gap between postings that, even more, underscores the laziness.

Hello,
It's been a couple of days since we've heard from you. We're going to assume your question has been answered and close this thread. If you still have questions please feel free to open a new question with us and we will answer your questions accordingly. Thanks!

Just go to the "Java Platform Standard Edition (Java SE)" subheading, and then select JDK/JRE 5.0. Once you are on the next page, select JRE (don't think JDK would work, only tried JRE, and it works for me). After which, just fill in the form, then an email will be sent to your nominated email account, to link you to the proper link to download 5.0. All you have to do from then is to download the file, and then install it. Workbench should then run as it should, without the error message you got. Had the same problem, but I figured out how to fix the problem. Hope that helps...
Thanks........this post saved my bacon..........I wonder why Line6 does not offer a patch to the Work bench to keep up with the latest JRE.
Hi, thanks for the link, all is working now! Why all this hassle though? C'mon Line 6!!!
