Jeff Beck live

I may be way behind here...but if anyone has not seen the Jeff Beck "Live at Ronnie Scott's"....dvd....find it and prepare to be blown away....

It is simply amazing...the whole band and the way they all work together...the songs...etc....

Look guys...this is one of the  top 5 all time concerts I've ever seen on dvd...even if you are not a JB fan..and maybe some of you younger cats that don't quite get what JB is all about.......this dvd will clear it up...

oh...did I mention Tal on bass? Vinnie on drums? and a cat I've never heard of on keys.......a guest spot from Joss Stone, Eric Clapton, Imogen Heep....(sp)

(oh....and imo....I like EC...but the way JB plays on this....he takes Eric to Blues School...EC is on cruise control I think...and he simply gets blown off the stage by JB...but again...only my opine)

Please see this concert.....you won't be sorry....

    Jeff Beck is God. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3y61-WSuwQ

He's just a master. His technique, his phrasing, his dynamics, whammy bar use, harmonics...#$%& amazing. Mind blowing. He's so damn tasty!

Then you realize he doesn't even use a pick....

    Re: Jeff Beck live

I've been amazed by Jeff Beck's guitar playing since his Yardbird days.  Back in the days of 45 RPM records, I used to buy the Yardbird's singles any time one came out on 45 RPM.  I remember buying their single "Over, Under, Sideways, Down" when it was released in 1966.  I got it home and listened to it a few times and then decided to flip it over to the "B" side.  There was a guitar instrumental on the "B" side called "Jeff's Boogie."  I placed the needle down on the record that day in 1966, and I've never been the same since.

From that point, I became obcessed with all things relating to Jeff Beck.  When his first solo album "Truth" came out back in 1967,  I can't tell you how many times I must have played that thing over and over.  The trend continued until the mid 70's when Jeff began his leanings towards Jazz and Jazz/Rock Fusion.  I just wasn't quite ready for that back then, but I enjoy that particular genre very much nowadays.  So about 8 years ago, I went out and bought the CD versions of all of Jeff's "Fusion" releases from the mid to late 70's.  I enjoy them very much, but they're still not really what I would consider my Jeff Beck favorites.  Everything from "Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop" (1989) to the present day is actually my all around personal favorites.  Especially Jeff's last 8 years or so.  Wow!!!!   It's convinced me that us old guys can still burn it up if we really put our minds (and hands) to it.
