HI i know the title is wierd but heres my question
if im using the pod xt live and i whant to use the amp and cab simulation, but also im looking for the tube feel of an amp. i dont know can someone tell me please what is the best amp, or amp type for the pod xt?
I have had good results using it with a fender hotrod deluxe 6l6 tubes, marshall DSL2000 401 combo el84 tubes, peavey classic 30 el84 tubes and a bogner shiva that uses el34 tubes. In each case it worked great but the tone in the Shiva's preamp is hard to beat. In the case of the Hot Rod deluxe it was a huge improvement over the preamp's sound. I am thinking about using a 12ax7 tube preamp in the effects loop of the xt live and opting for a full range powered monitor like the FBT verve 12ma. I would place the effects loop last in the chain.
thak you for you're responce now can you please tell me if you plugged the xt live in front of the amps or trough the eff.loop?
one more question, you say you're going foa full range monitor with a tube preamp. what is the chain secuence you'll have? can you please aleborate in this? oh and what tube preamp will you get?
I got the best results going into the pwer amp in (effects return) on the Fender hotrod deluxe. The distortion in that amp leaves a little to be desired and the POD more than makes up for that.
The effects loops on the bogner and the marshall are a little funny. I got the best result from those amps going into the front and keeping their settings clean. The Bogner really does sound better by itself but is a one trick pony.
I have an ada mp 1 guitar preamp that I am going to try and use in the effects loop. My plan is to use it like another amp or to just sweeten the tone.
Try out a Tech 21 Power engine 60. You'll love it......trust me.....
