XDS+: RX2 light not lit

The RX2 light isn't lit when I'm at my rehearsal location, but lights fine at home. I tried shutting down all other wireless units active in the space, but it still wouldn't light. Took the wireless home and powered up, both RX lights come on. I also noticed two dropouts tonight at rehearsal even though I was no more than 10 feet away from the receiver. This has never happened before. What gives?
Anyone?
Hard to say. The LED indicates that the Rx is receiving that channel and so if its off it means that the frequency is not being picked up. You could have a dropout or local interference that goes away when you change locations. It's possible that your unit is intermittent (but not likely).
The good news is that simply not having the loss a frequency does not affect your audio quality at all. It may affect your max distance a little.
Have you tried switching to other channels and does the same thing happen? If so then you probably have some line of sight issue. If not you have interference or a local "black hole".
I Have seen some rehearsal/Venue locations have some strange behavior with wireless gear. I have often noticed large metal girders/beams in rehearsal locations, and depending on other factors this may cause some interference. Have you had this problem at rehearsal before with your XDS+?
Karl,
let us know if you run into the problem again and we'll look into this further.
Okay, here's the cause of the problem:
My bass player bought an XDR95. He is on channel 5, I am on channel 1. When he turns on his transmitter, my RX2 light goes out. If he turns it off, it comes back.
Like I said ... there is no problem here. You are experiencing a near/far issue but it in no way affects your audio. If this were an analog system it would be causing interference and loss of signal quality and/or noise. But because the system is all digital it does not affect the signal or it's quality.
If not seeing the light bothers you you should turn off your transmitter while your bass player's unit is on and perform a scan function as outlined in the owner's manual and then switch to an all clear channel. I personally wouldn't bother. It is happening in this one location because of the exact proximity and it goes away in other locations because of the exact proximity. Cool thing is ... digital doesn't care.

But that's just the thing, it DOES affect my audio. I keep getting dropouts even though I'm less than 10 feet away from the unit. If bass player turns off his transmitter, all is fine. And we're on very different channels.
The dropouts were so bad and so consistant at our gig on Saturday night that I had to switch to a cable. First time I've ever had to do that since buying this unit.
How close are you to the bass player and how much difference is there in the two situations you described?
Can you try swapping channels with him? Make him ch1 and you take Ch5. Does his unit now drop a receiver LED and your's clears?
Have you ever performed a scan before assigning channels? Have you ever tried other combinations of channels and had the same problem?

Sorry, I was in rehearsal. I'm on the East coast, so I do better with earlier in the day. Seems when you've been calling, I'm out and can't answer the phone. I can answer you anytime between 8AM and 3PM PST.
Wrote Replacement RMA 12857 with call tag.
Status of RMA? My ticket appears to be closed and no way of reopening it or replying to it? In the meantime, I am without a wireless unit.
