A little bit of funkiness and mood music.Still some work to do as I've had to finish in the cans,

Podfarm for the guitars and JamstixXL for the drums
shepp,
Really Neat! Do you have filter thingees on the guitar again? This reminds me of Peter Gabriel (this is a compliment).
Yes it's a slightly tweaked version of the patch I posted called,"Wah Chung" and also in the middle there's an echo guitar using the Delay/Modulation for that really airy type sound ![]()
I'm still amazed at some of the tones that come out of Gearbox/Podfarm even if they aren't as close as Line6 would like them to be to the original amps they are superb for making my,"Own" style and sounds. As I've never been one to follow fasion or try and be like some one else, much like yourself,I find it constant fun to play around with Podfarm etc.The same goes for Jamstix. You can't beat it's quality and sounds IMHO ![]()
Link has been updated with a Monitor mix.
shepp,
Very good! The high frequencies sound a bit better on the latest mix. It is residing in my iTunes jukebox, ready to give me the slip. Is Talos Io your alter ego?
Yes.Talos Io is my YouTube alias.I'll have to get round to doing a vid.I re-mixed after some help from a great guy off the Reaper forum who re-mastered Straticus for me just out of kindness. He really knows his stuff. It's helped as I know my hearing deficiences but his re-mastering helped me understand them better.
I check my hearing from time to time on here,
http://www.phys.unsw.edu.au/jw/hearing.html
I have an inbalance between right and left ears(As everyone does) in certain frequency bands and also my hearing gets funky somewhere between 12/15K and I cannot hear above that unless at too high a volume and even then only slightly but this is not an issue once one understands where these things are and how we perceive sound.
I also clean/remove wax from my ears around every couple of months using the correct medication.Everyone using headphones of any form should do this from time to time as they are a major cause of wax build up and that affects mixing/recording.
Years ago I lost the hearing in one ear but luckily it was just wax build-up due to the industrial nature of my work at that time and that's when I had my ears syringed for the 1st time.Man it was like someone putting the treble unit back on an amp after they had sneakiliy removed it over time.Same effect if you have ever had a vehicle for any length of time and then had a new clutch put in.You can't believe how bad the old one was until you get the new one ![]()
I did the ear test thing. I can barely hear 16kHz when I turn it up pretty high. Irritating sound though. I don't know if I still can, but 20+ years ago there was a film processing store that would would hurt my ears with a high frequency sound. I asked an employee there what that annoying high pitch sound was. He said he can't hear it & only one other person had commented on it before. He said it was an ultra-sonic security system/alarm thing. Not sure if I still have the "dog ears".
Thing is even if our ears don't hear the high frequencies the Skull is still hit by them and they can be semi interpreted by the brain.I know those High frequency thingies. They started using them to deter youg people from hanging around shops fronts over here. However they can still cause nausia even if the ears don't hear them.I can,"Feel" there's something wrong even if I can't hear it.![]()
