Guitar Port driver error

Hi,
Something is wrong here. When starting Gear Box the message "Ignoring connection to GuitarPort. This device has an incompatable driver installed".
Running GuitarPort as such works, but still displays message "Please upgrade to latest version of GearBox" (allready installed).
Monkey reports driver update from 2.0.0.0 to 3.4.3.8 but after running the update (GuitarPort USB disconnected and connected as required) things doesn't change. The result is the same as above, even the Monkey report even if I just updated.
What might be wrong here?
This is the installation chain:
In bottom my original GuitarPort installation from CD version 1.12
Then the installation of Monkey 1.31
Then upgrade GuitarPort to version 2.01.1
that when opened recommended installation of
GearBox 3.70
Anything wrong with this order?
Anyhow, it all ends with a GearBox that can play files from inline but doesnt include the GuitarPort input.
Not really what I'm after.
Can you please help?
Regards
Michael
Hello,
The simplest solution to this is to disconnect your hardware and uninstall all Line 6 software from your Add/Remove Programs list in your control panel.
Once you have done that go to http://line6.com/software/ and download Gearbox 3.70. This installer will come with the right drivers and the latest version of Monkey so you only need to download and install that one thing.
Follow the installation and oyu should be all set.
Please let me know if this has been helpful. Thanks.

Thanks. I found that out from the FAQ somewhere and did it from the beginning without installing the old GuitarPort disk. At the end it works fine now. Still Monkey reports that my present driver 3.4.2.9 can be replaced with 3.4.3.8, and that the Monkey software itself can be updated from 1.30 to 1.31. But even if I run those updates the newer drivers wount install. Perhaps because I only have GuitarPort. Noticed a lot of other selectable hardware I dont use (and I unmarked those to me redundante drivers) so perhaps that why I cant restall every new driver. Is that right?
Anyway... ...the things I use works and thats all I need.

OK. Glad to hear it. You can also bypass Line 6 Monkey all together and go to our software downloads page and download the drivers and install them manually. You may want to try that and see if it works.

Thanks for the tip Miller. But as it is everything works fine (and a good rule many times use to be to leave it that way) so if there aren't any specific improvements in the minor difference between the drivers I have and the ones that was overlooked during the update I will leave it to some later version. Do you believe, with reference to the driver versions I mention, that my gear will fail because of that in some situation?
My best
Micke
