New x3 live ?

I am thinking of buying a new x3 live tommorrow from my local guitar center. Will it have the usb drop out fix update allready in it?
i'd be very careful with guitar center... judging from a few instances on this forum they tend to sell alot of customer returns as new...
i'm sure if you truly get a recent factory manufactured one the fix will be already done... but you can also get a new one that's been in a warehouse since before the fix was implemented... L6 seems pretty reluctant to list things like serial numbers related to this issue, but perhaps they or another user could tell what serial numbers have the fix.
Whenever they rolled out the newer footswitch design, it seemed like well over a year that people were still getting the older units. Someone actually got the date code info on the footswitches and posted it on the old forum. Maybe if you call Line6 they will give you the info on how to tell by looking at the serial number, if they do be sure and post that info as it would surely help a lot of people avoid the defective units out there. Either way, they will fix it under warranty but it sure stinks having to send a brand new unit in for repair.
Yeah - that's an excellent question that can't be answered as far as I know. Like the other guys said it depends on the serial number - but Line 6 won't make public the serial number at which the usb-fix was integrated into factory production. Of course, as soon as they do that their inventory of unsold pre-fix units becomes practially unsellable. Seems they'd rather deal with fixing brand new units from new owners out of the box rather than recall the inventory.
I didnt think that they recalled the inventory like they should have. Come on line 6 you are going to sell people known devective units rather than recalling the unsold ones and fixing them first? Oh well I think I will be buying a X3 bean instead. The bean does not have the problems that the live units did right?
The Bean did not have the USB Dropout.
or all the extra inputs... expression pedals, etc...
i sent my unit direct to L6 for the repair took little over a week....
would be worth it for me for the extras on the live unit...
whichever you decide i just wanted to throw this out there to make sure you get what you will ultimately be happy with.
Good points thanks!! I think an X3 bean will do me just fine though. I am mainly doing recording with my PC. I have a tone port ux1 now that refuses to work streaming audio out at 24 bit with out major noise burst. So I am thinking of upgrading to an X3 hoping it will work better for me.
