TonePort DI-S No Sound

I just received my TonePort DI-S from my GuitarPort bundle.  I installed all of the software.  I have the TonePort plugged in.  I have a green light.  I have re-installed drives more than once.  I have restarted the computer more than once.  I have switched USB port, computer front panel not a hub.  I have all of the up to date Drivers, USB, Gear Box, etc.

I am getting no sound through my computer speakers from the Guitar.  I see needles moving on Gear Box.  I have twisted knobs, pushed buttons, tried combinations of things.  I can hear the video tutorials played from the embedded browser at the bottom of gear box just fine.

I know there is something super simple that I am not seeing here.  Why can't I hear my guitar played through my PC speakers?

thanks

are you computer speakers plugged into your cmputers built in sound card (which isn't being used when the toneport is connected, as the toneport becomes your sound card).

so connect your speakers to the toneport.

    Hello,

      you are over complicating things.

If you want to leave your speakers connected to your computer here is what you need to do.

      1. Buy a 1/4" to to 1/8" in Y cable. The 1/4" side should have 2 mono leads and the 1/8" side should have one stereo lead.

      2. Run the 1/4" sides out of the left/right analog outs on the TonePort.

      3. Plug the 1/8" stereo side to the Line In on your computer (this will be located near your speaker out)

      4. Go to your Windows Control Panel and look under sounds and audio devices. Under the audio tab, set the TonePort to be your main input and output device.

Please see the following video tutorial for more info on this.

    Hi,

That is most likely because you purchased a stereo 1/4" to 1/8" adapter. But the issue is: one of the Analog Outs (1 or 2) is not stereo, it's a mono output. Therefore, you're only going to ever get a one-sided output into a stereo speaker cable connect point.

This is what you'll need: http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Monster-Cable-MCL-MSTMINI-2FM-18-Stereo-Male-to-2-4-Mono-Female-Cable-Adapter?sku=330059&src=3WFRWXX&ZYXSEM=0&CAWELAID=43140940

Then, you can connect 2 little 1/4" mono patch cables to the Analog Outs 1/2 (Left/Right). You should then hear full stereo output at your speakers.

      Regards,
