Hi. I'm tired to fight with goddaXX usb dropout.
and usb-record's tone sucks. it's TOO different compare with another mp3 player of computer soundcard.
so I'm gonna try to use spdif.
I'm not sure, but i suppose my computer's mother board and soundscard not support spdif in/out. (mother - P31, sound - realtek ALC662)
so, how can I connect pod and computer through spdif?
what should i do?
1. buy a coverting cable? is there cable converts spdif to d-sub, dvi or something can be connect to computer? (i don't know about this much)
2. buy a audio interfaces support rca or spdif?
3. I heard rca and spdif are same(or similar) thing. am I right?
please answer me, Thanks.

If you're experiencing the dropout then contact Line 6 to get your unit fixed.
If you want to record with S/PDIF then you will need to get a sound card for your computer that has the S/PDIF input on it.
RCA is not the same. The RCA refers to the type of plug not the digital audio format. Most RCA connectors are on line level inputs (analogue). High end audio cards for computers should have S/PDIF inputs (and outputs).
Take a look at this: http://www.tech-faq.com/spdif.shtml

am I have to choose pci sound card? or either usb sound cards can solve the dropout?
I agree with Crusty. Get your unit fixed. USB is the easiest, most flexible way to record directly to your PC.
A USB audio interface is fine for S/PDIF. FWIW, I use an M-Audio Fast Track Pro.
But before spending money on a new audio interface, try recording the analog outs. You might find they're good enough.
thanks for answering me you two,
but dropout is not all of problem.
as I said, x3's monitoring is so bad. I can't hear original sound. it's too different so i can't get good tone.
so I'm gonna buy usb soundcard (it's just 20$.) and monitor my sound with this cards.
thanks for you two again,
I'll thread the review about 'recording pod x3l through s/pdif and its difference point'... ![]()
