I have a Variax 300. The "G" string doesn't seem to be getting picked up by the piezo. Does anyone have any suggestions on fiddling with this? How do I get to the pickup? Can I get to it through the back or do I have to take the bridge off?
Hello,
You need to replace that actual saddle. You should take the unit to a Line 6 service center to have the performed if you are not comfortable doing the soldering yourself.
The saddle or the pickup? Where do I get info on replacing the saddle? As well as the parts?
vettaville has had some variax links and vids in the past for transplants .

Just for clarification, the saddle IS the pickup. There are 6 individual piezo's - one in each saddle. You'll see little fine wires going from each saddle into the guitar body. When restringing or adjusting the intonation/action you need to be careful not break them.
