MIDI preset change in Gearbox

Hi,

Is Line6 planning to add an option for changing presets via midi controler and when?

After I bought FCB1010, I stopped using the Gearbox because it lacks this option and I am using Guitar Rig instead.

Also, Amplitube and GTR3 have this option. Seems only Gearbox doesn't...

BR,

S.

Thanks for the feedback. That is correct, there is no MIDI CC assigned to preset changes in Gearbox or POD Farm. Please submit your feature request at the link below. Thanks!

OK, I'm going to answer this question.

You can use any midi controller that send Program Change messages to do this.

I'll document one, here it is.

As soon as I find a way to upload my 284 kb PDF file? The system refuses to upload it. Returns an error and a 0 byte file.

        The document

        -----------------------------------------------

        I’m using Gearbox 3.70 with a Toneport UX8
In Gearbox set the ‘Send MIDI as onscreen controls are operated’

        MISSING IMAGE

Start MIDI-OX and setup the midi devices

        MISSING IMAGE

Set ‘Display SysEx message in Monitors’

        MISSING IMAGE

In Gearbox, use your mouse to select a tone.
The generated midi will appear in the MIDI-OX monitor.

        MISSING IMAGE

Using the ‘mark for clipboard function’ and ‘copy to clipboard’ functions, you can
Copy all the SysEx information of the Gearbox tone

You can then create a midi map that will send the copied SysEx data message instead of the ProgChg message.

I have MIDI-OX setup as below

        MISSING IMAGE

I now use my GR1 to switch between 4 patches.
I believe that it doesn’t matter where the tone file is on the computer.
I believe that all the information required for the tone is in fact contained in the SysEx message.

        MISSING IMAGE

I also have an addition midi map set that allows me to switch the Delay effect On/Off .

        MISSING IMAGE

So, there you have it. Where there’s a will there’s a way.
        Cheers!
