Flextone II HD with 2 mono 8 ohm cabinets

If I connect two cabinets (1=Flextone 412s set to 8 ohms, left/mono input; 2=Rocktron 112 8 ohm wedge for a guitar only monitor) and connect the two to the two left/mono output of the Flextone II HD set to 8 ohms, will this cause any problems? In other words, if the head is set to 8 ohms, does connecting a load to the two left outputs but nothing to the right outputs affect impedence, etc? I'm trying to find a creative solution to overpowering smalls rooms versus not being able to hear myself without being dependent of the sounds guy to get the monitor mix right. Thanks!

What you are proposing (two 8 ohm cabs on the same side) will create a 4 ohm load, which may damage your unit. See the following link for more information on ohm loads and cabinet connections:
