Hi All
I once saw plans for a case for a Pod x3 Live on the old forum, are they still about ? could anyone point me in the right direction.
Cheers
Dave
Plans for building a case?
Interesting idea, but I think this is the "offical Line 6" carrying case for it:

Good morning
I use Thomann effect pedal bag.It is 3 times cheaper,than original POD bag.In Thomann.de,it costs 18.40 EUR

Nice cases at a great price...the one I have has room for a second expression pedal or a couple of other pedals.

In particular, this one:

I've built three X3 Live setups using that case.

interesting job on the rebadging... i'm going to guess that it's easier to read after a few brewski's ![]()

At church??? LOL! ![]()
It's easier to read on a dark stage. Darn near impossible without it.
Karl,
Agreed on the relabeling - I used mine at church for the first time this past week, and kept stepping on the bank buttons instead of the channel buttons.
Our stage gets kinda dark with stage lighting lixed in so it's easy not to be able to read something on the X3.
have your roadies duct tape a flashlight to your monitors ![]()
I have the (cheaper) non-flight case that is the same size if that makes sense. I hesitated to recommend a specific model as I have lately been wishing mine was just a little bit bigger (if it was...I'd probably wish it was bigger still). ![]()
Karl, I'll be using your tape markers idea...exactly what I need!
I would get your case, too..but I have a couple more stomps I like to use.
I guess I should look at one a wee bit bigger.
I like Insidian's with the power stuff, but it looks heavy and a bit more than I need.
Make sure you use vinyl marking tape like electrical tape. They sell it in hardware stores and I think I used the one inch wide stuff. It peels right off with no residue too. You just write on it with a permanent Sharpie marker.

It's a bit heavy, but I like the extra room so my cables don't get bent. Also gives me a bit of space for my X2 transmitter and storage when I have the case closed up. Although, if I already owned a power conditioner, I would have gone with something a bit smaller.

Hi Stumpsout,
I also use a case I've bought with the German music cyberstore Thomann. It's actually a ROCKCASE-model, made by WARWICK. They make a whole series of quality bags and cases for musical instruments and equipment for a very decent price. My case is comparable with the one that Karl has. It's just a bit deeper and a bit less wide at the same time. The extra space at the backside of the X3L is used for the powersupply, cables and also the plug-adapter for the condensator-microphone-side of the stereo cable that connects my acoustic Guild to both the microphone and aux-inputs on my X3L.
(I have a piezo/condensator-mic dual system build in this guitar) The guitar input is used for the electric(s). I use a second (bit smaller) case for my Roland GR-20 and the 2nd LINE6 expression pedal. The GR20 is plugged into the X3L's effectsloop and is also connected through midi, in order to follow program changes from the X3L. A bit Robert Frippish, but I use it on occasions and it works like a dream!
Cheers,
Rohaya
Oh, by the way. That "platform" and also the shaped out bottom plate didn't come with the case originally! I made those myself. I've put Velcrotape on everything and sometimes use the "cable- and plug-protection board" at the back (with the chrome handles) to place some extra pedals on.
Thomanns also makes a case specifically for the X3 Live.......
Hi Geeker,
Really? I didn't know. Interesting. Must be a recent development I would guess?
I can see the irony in your reply. After all the obvious effort it took me to build/adapt that case and the effort to make pictures and include them in the thread, you send me a short, subtle hint that I could have spared myself all the work, hahaha! I can see the joke of it!
Have a nice day! You're German right? I think it's gonna be a sunny day for you as well!

It's right here.
It seems the "insert a link" doesn't work.

This is the case I got and it's great.
nah.....I'm not German but I do live here. Yes!!! The sun shining!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really like that case that Karl posted, but won't the X3 move around in it if you don't build something to hold it down like Karl did? By the way, what did you use for the bottom of that case to hold it in place?
the foam around the X3L - did that come with the case or did you pick that up somewhere else?

It's those interlocking blocks that you put under exercise equipment. You can buy it at Lowe's or Home Depot.
did you cut it with a sharp knife or something special?
Just a regular utility knife. It cuts easily.
I just received this case based on your recomendation. Thank you! Thank you! It is amazing. The only thing I don't see is how you might add a lock to it.
But that's not an issue for me at all. It is very well made and will work perfectly with my x3l.
Hey Karl, nice case i've been looking into getting the same thing! Do you think it's necessary to get the foam stuff around it or will the velcro hold it? Also how did you cut the foam and still have room in the back for your cable connections? From the pics it doesn't look like you can connect your cables....Anyway thanks for the help!
Is it easy to access & use the footswitches while the POD is inside the case? I looked at the picture of the case on the website & it looks like it's bulky. Does it take up a lot of room on the floor of your church platform? The way the pic looks, the case/pedalboard are significantly higher off the ground, which makes me think that it makes it more difficult to manipulate the switches. Thanks!
I'm curious about how high the POD sits as well. I guess Karl was trying to get the foot switches above the frame of the case???
TTT
.
I've got that same case from rando. Its very durable. Didn't cost much more than the Line 6 Bag.
I have a gator GK-2110 softcase. it's $30 everywhere, big enough, and has enough padding. (it says it's a keyboard bag, but works for the X3 live too).
Unless you want a hardcase, it's one to look at.
This is the case I used for my XT live and when I got the X3 live I got another one. These are great cases! I highly recommend them. http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/tarcaseco_W0QQ_nkwZQQ_armrsZ1QQ_fromZQQ_mdoZ
Message was edited by: jamiearrington to add pictures cause link doesn't have pictures anymore. He will get more on ebay.
IDK about a "legitimate" case, but I'm still using the XTL case I bought when I had an XTL. works fine.
I just bought a used suit case from the Salvation Army for $15. It has enough room for the X3 Live plus cables, tools, flashlight, ducktape, etc. and it's a hardshell. Far, far cheaper than buying any pedal case too.
but you're hauling around more "luggage"!!! hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
sorry.....corny joke.........![]()
Hello All,
Finally i got pdc4100e.
It is a good case .
Now i need to insert packing materials.
I am try to put faoms etc around it so that the unit doesnot move much inside the case.
But now the questions is -
Are you really going to carry the unit inside the case as cargo baggage in flight?
Or you still prefer to carry it as a hand baggage.
regards,
Nabarun.
hey man how are u doin,
