Updating Spider 75 firmware without foot controller?

Is there any possible way to update the amp without buying the foot controller for 99$. I just spent 375$ on this amp to find out I cant update it. Could somebody assist me? Maybe I could just skip using the footpedal and connect the FBV port to my computer instead?

    Hi

     

    What you want to do as a normal consumer is currently not possible I'm afraid.  The amp needs an interface to connect with the computer whichever way you look at it.  The required interface is one or other of the FBV MkII series pedals.  You cannot plug the amp in to the ethernet port on your computer and get it to work - in case that's what you were thinking.
