oh no... i feel a GAS attack coming on. ![]()
seriously, this is cool. I see there's a humbucker and a single coil pup on the pictures so that sounds cool.
any news on what those pups are, or are they OEM ones, with the idea that people who want specific pups would get them swapped out for specific models, etc?
Pressrelease
Will these guitars work well with existing Line6 products i.e. Pod X3 Live etc...?
Any close up picks of the headstock yet?
OK. Lets start with the questions.
Is this a vax II?
Or just a 1st gen vax in a boutique guitar?
It appears there is a new bridge design?
Is there a rechargable battery solution? Or do we still use AA?
Are the real pups routed to the 1/4 inch jack or can I switch that jack to be the vax output?
When will I be able to use VDI over wireless?

if it dodn't work with existing X3L then I doubt anyone would buy a new VAX, so I'd say that's a defo

well it is the next variax. the name variax II is just a name, line6 can call it what they like. i think the James Tyler Variax sounds great.
there's been a lot of talk over the last 2 years about the next variax, and all the added benefits, including a better modelling section. I can't believe line6 would put so much effort into this for 2 years and then leave the initial guts in it. check the photos here: www.rowbinet.co.uk and you'll see it's got mag pickups so there's got to be some changes to it to work with them.
not sure about the batteries
i think the black know near the neck pup will be to choose what system (mag pups or variax) will go to the 1/4" output. maybe we'll be able to blend them too, but that's a guess.
Obviously, this will be a better quality guitar. I'm hoping the modeling, and make no mistake, this is the real selling point here, will give us better sounding options. I hope Line 6 has listened over the years and will give us better electric and acoustic 12 string sounds, etc.
With special thanks to Horst.

I must say those look puuuurdy!!!!
Well two of them do certainly - the LP (ish) one and the Ibanez RG (ish) one have got me drooling with anticipation - and I haven't even heard or played any of them yet. Don't like the Strat (ish) one though - Sorry. Two out of three ain't bad ![]()
Nick
very nice!
is it the exact same guts as variax 700 etc?
If not, does this mean a nice flash update for our variaxs that we own?
Personally I would like to see an update for us with some more features, like maybe a nice nylon string?
Having said that, good effort there on the bodywork!
Gareth
I'll take the RED Strat w/Tailpiece...sign me up!!! (I hope it won't cost too much
) I don't want any updates for my existing VAX...I want a new 2-CPU, 1 for the Models and 1 for altered tunings, so that I can alter any model...plus a Nice Neck and real pickups...and a rechargeable battery. This will be the bomb!
Stay in the mix and in the know.
