Using the M13 to control my JVM's channels using midi is AWESOME!!

Just figured out how to do it and man was it worth the $30 midi cable. Now using latch mode I can change all 4 FX units on the M13 and the channel (which also saves master volume, reverb and fx loop settings) on my Marshall JVM by pressing 1 button! There is a small delay but it's totally fine.
One question though: Since I now have 3 cables going out the m13 to the back of the JVM, are there any tricks for wrapping the cables together to make setup easier? Or could I just duct tape them together?
I can't wait for my next gig!
Hi,
If you have a Fry's nearby, you can do what I did...

I'm sure you can find something similiar elsewhere. The measurements are from memory since my supplies and gear are at the rehearsal space, but it works really well, and is very durable, and still easy to wrap the snake for packing. I'm running 5 cables in that sleeving. Also, the torch torch the most expensive thing for heating the heat shrink, but there are many cheaper options. I'll try to add some pictures tonight after rehearsal.
Best of luck!
Eric.

I use small, black zip ties. Available at any hardware store. Then I use electrical marking tape in various colors to color code the cable ends, and the inputs on the amp and the M13. Setup so easy, a roadie can do it for you.

Here's my take on tying cables together.......... don't. I used to tie mine together until I had a cable go bad during a show ......... had to find throw one on fast........
on the other hand..... I need to try controlling my JVM 410H with my M13 since I still use the Marshall JVM foot controller with my setup.... Thanks for the heads up!!!
Hi Toelessfoot, I read your post and was wondering if you could please explain to me in detail if you have time how you married your jvm head and your m13.I am not able to change the channels on my head with the midii commands from the m13. I have the same setup as you and can't marry the 2. Here is what i have done so far.
I am in latchmode mnl on a different scene than the one i want to save
i reset my jvm head and the the channel i want to select with each scene
midi channel on m13 is at 1 and i have tried omni
i get the jvm head in midi mode with the blinking light and then hit the m13 scene i want to save
the blinky light on jvm head still blinking and when i check it the amp channels are not saved
my cables are hooked up in 4cm and the midi cable is going from m13 out to jvm head midi in
Can you please advise me on what i am doing wrong? Please?
Jane
Sir, Could you please tell me how you got your JVM to get the midi command from the M13. I have M13 in latch mode. I am on a different patch than the one i want to save on M13. I have Midi out of M13 into Midi in JVM. I set amp the way i want it and then turn midi listen channel on the amp and then hit the patch i want to save on M13. The JVM still blinking. I press it again and see if it works and it doesn't Can you tell me what i might be missing? Please?
Jane
Could one of you all using the M13 and the Marshall JVM help me out? Please? I have exhausted all possibilities.
