XDR95 Mode and Use for Vocal

Our brand new XDR95 arrived on Friday (in Yellowknife, NT Canada). After about an hour of trying to get it to work we changed it from the factory XDR mode to XDS mode and now it works. As it sounds like XDR mode is the superior choice, and supposed to be the factory setting, why can't we use that mode?

Also, we had wanted our sound guy to order a mini-boom wireless microphone (the kind that hangs on the ear with the mic that sits right by the person's cheek). 80% of what we will use it for is spoken word; maybe some singing when we run out of handhelds on special occasions. Due to a miscommunication, he ordered the XDR95.  Is it appropriate to use for vocals? If so, we don't want to have to return it so is there a way to switch out the lapel style for the mini-boom style?

Thanks

XDR is the factory preset and it should work fine as long as both the TX and RX are set the same.  Was your box factory sealed?

No problem using a mic with the XDR95 (as long as you wire it up as shwn in the manual ... or order it as wired for a Sennheiser beltpack))

I don't know how it got switched ... but it's an easy fix.  Set it for XDR, you'll get a green light on the receiver.  NOW ... turn the receiver off with the power switch and not by unplugging it from the wall.  Now it will be fixed in XDR position.

    Hello,

Have you seen this FAQ? It explains how to switch between modes effectively.
