HD100 versus HD100 MKII

I bought a new HD100 head about 2 weeks ago from Sam Ash.  Now, upon looking online, I am wondering if I was sold an HD100 (non MKII) head - is there such a thing?  Looking online, there seems to be no distinguishing between the 2.  Regardless of whether the advertised head is and HD100 or and HD100 MKII, the prices are all $899.  The only difference that I can see is that the HD100 has a single line LCD display while the HD100 MKII has a large, double line LCD display.  Is there any difference, and if so, then why are is the price for both types the same.  I wished that I would have done a little more research on this, as I am afraid that I just paid $899 for a model which has been update.

HD100 is the MK1, but it wasn't called that when it came out three years ago...The MKII is quite different...Updatable firmware and tweakable FX are probably the most notable features...There are some other differences like the MK2 has midi...

On the surface, they look similar...The MK2 does have MK2 silked on the front panel...The physical differences are subtle...

The power sections are pretty much the same...the modeling board is really what is different...MK2 is the newer hardware...

        Likely you should exchange it...

Having owned the mk1 and now have the mk2 hd100 the mk2 is the one to go for as you can deep edit the effects, also there is a difference on the front panel , the mk2 has the pre set knob and curser button under the lcd window and the mk1 has the curser on the left next to the lcd window,my mate bought the mk1 off me and now he has used mine is going to get the mk2

        here's a pic of my mk2 and mk1 below
