POD v2 for vocals

I'm considering using a pod 2 for vocals.  Has anyone done this?  Is it viable?  thinking og getting an XLR to 1/4" jack cable.

 

I've given up using X3 for vocals and guitar, it's just too unpredictable.

 

Another option is for me to use a UX1.

 

PS I need to use midi for changing of effects tempo sync etc.
