Tips for getting a tone like on ALL SHALL PERISH - Price Of Existence Album?

Anyone got any leads on how to get a tone like this?
Some dude on the All Shall Perish page suggested that they used Peavey Rock Master preamp with a mesa 5050 poweramp through a distressor/compressor to record it. I'm using a POD X3 into a Korg D3200 32 track desk. Also have a couple of outboard preamps, eq, tubescreamer, etc. but would like to get it as close as possible before resorting to adding things to the chain.
I am not too familiar with that group however I would like to mimic this tone and quality for my project. I am running two guitars, bass, drum kit from hell and will be doing vocals myself. I suppose that I could use pointers for the following.
Suggestions please on the following:
1. Vocal mic
2. Vocal effects, and/or eq's
3. Layering the guitars and EQing them to mesh but still be distinctive
Thanks for any input!
