JTV69 (Sunburst and Black)
Received 01/04/2011
Boise Idaho
Ma & Pa music store that I work at
I picked the sunburst one and am not really too pleased... I'm already eagerly awaiting the stores opening so I can go back and check out the black one and I hope it plays better than this one...
I would also suggest you add "state / appearance". The only 2 that have been posted so far have not exactly been 100% flawless.
I second the appearance and build quality information as this seems to be an issue so far.
What does "not too pleased" mean exactly? Can you be more specific please? ![]()
Did you not like how it plays, how it sounds, or how it looks or...?

He started a different thread, and explained it there. http://line6.com/community/message/222200#222200 This thread is an attempt to consolidate the arrivals in one place.

JTV Model Received: JTV69
Order Date: Can't remember. October or November. I pre-ordered one from Sweetwater the day they were first announced, but then cancelled my pre-order to instead order one through my bass player's music store in Octover or November.
Received Date: 1/4/2011
City/Country: College Station, TX (that's where the music store is, I live in Austin)
Retailer: Lippman Music
Generally I love mine. Setup great. Feels, plays, sounds great. The Volume and Tone pots were a bit loose so I had to pull the knobs off and tighten them and it's missing the trem arm tension screw. Other than that, loving it so far!

Could you post pics of the damage you were telling us about?
I gave it to our in house luthier to inspect and see if he can smooth it out so at this point I can't get any pics (since I'm not there today)... it wasn't really THAT bad but it was noticeable and shouldn't have been there... it was most definitely a file gouge (I've seen them before many times) This is not something that our store would sell to the general public without it either being setup by our luthier or being sent back to Line 6 for repair/replacment.
I'm sure it's something that Line6 will want to know about and I will be sure to inform them! ![]()
Have I mentioned how much I LOVE this black one already though!! ![]()
I did a couple of little personal tweaks (Schaller Straplocks, Planet Waves Locking/Cutting Tuners, a few little action adjustments for individual strings) and put my favorite strings on it and just got it all synched up with my previous POD HD500 patches and I am loving this!!!!
It has a pretty different feeling neck than the 600 I'm use to... but it feels good...
Just realized that mine has a small ding on the third fret which you can feel when you sustain the B string with some vibrato. You can feel and hear it getting caught in the nick in the fret. Pretty minor and I was going to see my luthier tomorrow (about another guitar) anyway so hopefully he can just buff it out. Slight bummer, none the less.

It may be easy to remedy, but you shoudln't have to ![]()

I agree. No doubt that "stuff happens," but still the apparent frequency of reported flaws is a little disconcerting.
I have a JTV69US on backorder, and I expect it to be perfect. That extra "premium" buys more than just better materials and a "made in the USA" sticker (or should, anyway). TLC in the crafting department a biggy. In fact, probably the biggest thing for me personally.
Hopefully, the reported incidents don't indicate a trend. :-/
I'm curious how those who backordered through Sweetwater will report their JTV experiences. There's an advantage to not being the first kid on the block (e.g. MF and some others) sending JTVs to their customers. If I was Sweetwater (or any other retailer), I'd have somebody from my sales department lurking on this forum big time just to see how things are shaking out, then "one up" the competition.
So far there is only few delivered, but it appears they have "build" issues in these guitars. Not great. I already contacted my Sweetwater rep and requested they make sure they go over the 69 I have on pre-order (they claim a 50 point checkout) and if it has these types of flaws do not even ship it to me. I would rather wait to get one that is in relatively better shape.

No problems as of yet. Body/Paint looks great. Neck excellent. Strings almost in tune (all the way from Korea). Tremolo bar in bag pocket. Guitar came with a digital cable and USB cable. (Guess I didn't need to buy the digital cable as a separate item). Waiting for battery to charge to plug in and test the electronics.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
