Clicks(/cracks), pops, noise and distortion and stuff all the time on multiple PC's with Toneport UX2

Hello everyone,

I have a Toneport for like two years or so but lately (read: last year) it's killing all the fun I have in music. It gives weird noisses, it cracks, clicks, pops and distorts my sound all the time. I always had it on my PC with Windows XP and then everything was fine, until I bought a new laptop where I had Windows 7 Professional x86-64 on. All the symptoms I described earlier came and it became very annoying. Also I contacted Microsoft and a few specialists for a lot of random memory errors and BSOD's and it turned out that the driver was giving me random BSOD's... So I installed a newer version of de 64-bit driver and it worked for like one day or so, everything came back. Later on tLine6 was placing a notice with a warning that the Windows 7 64-bit driver was giving random BSODs... At that time it was already too late of course and I had to reïnstall my laptop.

I have since a few months a new PC (good enough everything, it's is not the PC that has some weird problems, it really is the device or the driver) and after a few weeks it began again with the pops and cracks, peeps and stuff. Although it is less then it was on the drivers I had with my laptop, it's still very annoying! Sometimes I am in the middle of a solo, recording, or I am playing live and it just quits working... So I really need to get rid of this problem.

Specs:

- OS: Windows 7 Professional RTM x86-64 with all updates.

- PC: Fast enough, perfectly build.

- Device is on it's own USB-bus (i.e. it has it's own controller on the mobo, to use all for itself, so no hubs and stuff).

- I have used the searchfunction (Google and Line 6) and have found more people with this problem (they all seem to have x86-64 OSs) but there is no solution that works for me.

- I use it as much as an external soundcard (music and stuff) and also for recording and playing the guitar.

- Speakers: B&W DM602 s3.

- Amps: Yamaha & Onkyo.

- Cables: All in perfect condition, no breeches and stuff.

- Drivers are up to date (i.e. I have the most recent one).

So now the question for the technical guys:

What do I have to do to get my Line6 Toneport UX2 working as it should? If one requires more informationg: just ask and I will give.

Thanks in advance to all of you,

Chocola
