Problem with DT 50 212....ARGH (help)

I was just playing around with some settings (between my HD 500 and my DT 50 212). I decided to
disconnect the POD and play straight into the DT 50. I put the amp on standby, disconnected the L6 link,
then plugged my guitar into the "high" input (Les Paul w/ regular humbuckers). Now topography III sounds
really weak and scratchy/slappy. The other topography's seem to be okay. But something is definately wrong with III.
I reloaded the newest flash upgrades, shut down, an restarted with no change.
Any ideas?

Don't know exactly what you're hearing but I'm sure you know each mode has it's own volume, etc. Mode III should be one of the louder ones in my experience. As strange as this might sound, try turning the master volume all the way up, and use the channel volume to increase your actual volume from the amp directly with your guitar plugged in. Also, try switching channels and every other switch...triode/pentode, etc. I'm sure you got the idea...and see if mode III sounds the same in both channels. I've come across some very quirky bits with these DT50 amps and volume has been one of them varying greatly between modes. I did this type of "fiddling" around and the amp finally settled down - so to speak and has been running consistent since. Kinda like a race horse in the starting gate...how's that for a comparison?? ![]()
Take care,

Well, s/w Line 6 and they said send it back in then wait for 2-6 weeks for repair![]()
Decided to call Guitar Center (where I purchased it) and even though I was a week past 1 month,
they are swapping it out for a new one and covering the shipping![]()
I look forward to playing it again soon.
hmmm seems the last time i used topology 3 it was weaker then I remember it should be....I better check this out.................just checked it and mine is way weaker then it used to be as well
gonna try update again?
high tech crap!!
hopefully it will be nothing ...
For what its worth (allot to me) reinstalling the latest firmware seems to have fixed the problem with mine.
I wasn't so fortunate. re-loading the latest firmware (which was already on it when the problem started) didn't help.
the thing is quirky no doubt I have had some very strange things happen with it so far....I am sure this will not be the last. I am glad I have 2 years of warranty instead of just one. But with any luck...updates will equal out everything. Played today with no issues anyway. Thank goodness I am not making a living with this equipment...Would suck till it was all worked out.. and figured out by me to boot.

I'm trying to make a living using Line 6 gear exclusively since 2003. luckily for me, I'm not replying on the new Flagship stuff to do my live shows with. I'll keep working with it, evaluating it in my own way, experiment with various combinations of the new gear with my proven Vax EC700s and Vetta combos. I'm pretty certain that things will stabilize as more people buy the gear and send in both positive and negative feedback.
Take care,
Neal
