Here's how to defeat the speaker output mute when plugging into the Headphone/Line output of Spider IV amps. Do not attempt this unless you are familiar with soldering and are comfortable working on the inside of amplifiers that have high voltages inside! You will need: soldering iron, hookup wire, a spst mini switch, a drill.
THIS VIDEO SHOWS HOW IT WAS DONE ON A SPIDER III, WATCH IT, BECAUSE IT'S ALMOST IDENTICAL TO THE SPIDER IV.
Hi, I like your video, it´s too much interesting this mod.
I have a question.. the input jack (guitar in) is stereo or mono? I know it have nothing to do with the mod but maybe you can help me. I'm confused because I had understood that it is mono, but when I plug a stereo signal (POD and mp3 player) it still sounds in stereo like as CD/mp3 input. And the stranger thing is that the cable I use is a standard guitar cable I'm sure is mono, how it's possible? ![]()
by the way.. I use a Spider IV, but I think its almost the same. Sorry my english is too bad, I cant explain it better ![]()
The guitar input is mono. You shoudl be plugging your CD/MP3 player into the rear CD input, which is stereo.
thanks man!
