i have gone thru all the presets on my new Pod HD400 and i can't find any settings or models for just "pre amp" so i can use the acoustic instrument models on my variax 700 (banjo, sitar, acoustic guitar, dobro)-which i use very often for my work. i'm a full time musician and use line6 products for EVERYTHING. i can't believe line6 would come out with something that's not fully usable with one of their own guitars. can anybody tell me how/where to find a pre amp setting on the HD400 or a way i can use all the sounds of my variax?
thx! :-)

I don't use an amp at all - just an EQ with slight chorus or delay and some reverb. You have several EQs to choose from - test them out.
I would like to use a compressor too but with the HD300/400 you cannot use two FX from the same block (FX1) simultaneously.
I downloaded some HD500 acoustic tones and adapted them to the 400. Look in Customtone for one called Acoustic Air. There are others.
how do you not use an amp? i don't see any setting for bypass under the amp model section
thx

nevermind-i think i got it now
Hey scottemcg,
Thanks for the great advice silverhead. Are you sure you got it scottemcg?
You don't have to use a amp with every preset, especially when using an acoustic guitar. Silverhead had some great suggestions of just using some compression, EQ, and reverb.
