Hello,
A friend of mine has a POD hd500 and he says that even when using high quality monitor headphones, they sound bad.
He also says that when connecting to a stereo system the pod sounds great...
Did anyone expereince any tone difference between the headphones output and the Line outs?
Thanks
there is always going to be a difference between headphones and line outs (amp outs)
especially if you are comparing them using the same tone....
part of that is volume perception: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fletcher%E2%80%93Munson_curves
but you really need to dial in the tone for it's intended use...

And even if you have the highest quality monitor headphones, if they don't fall within the suggested Impedance levels of 150 - 600 Ohms, then chances are, they still ain't gonna sound great.
Does changing the setting between "amp" and "studio" also effect the headphone output?
What about the USB digital audio output?
