Tuner stopped working

Recently the tuner on my hd500 seems to have stopped working properly.
When I hold and release the tuner button, it pops back out of tuner mode. If I try holding the tuner button down longer, it quickly toggles back and forth between the tuner and the patch.
Any ideas on how to fix his? Simply turning off and then on again did not resolve it.
Sounds like a dud switch to me. You could try working the switch a few times to see if it comes good, or cleaning it. Other than that, you'll probably have to replace the switch under warranty.
It has nothing to do with the switch. The switch works perfectly, and that is really pretty obvious from my description. This question should have never been marked answered, if someone had actually read it.
I think what it did have to do with is something having to do with "Tap Tempo". I think I was in some kind of mode where the tuner switch was being interpreted as a tempo tap and not as an attempt to get into the tuner.
I was eventually able to get out of this mode although I'm not sure how I did it.
I've had this problem a couple of times before. I have no idea how to explain it but in my case the proper tuner behaviour was restored by selecting a different preset. Then you can return to the original preset at any time and the tuner will still work.
Don't know if this explains/resolves your problem but it seems to work for me. And it was pointed out to me by another user but I can't remember who - so thanks to whoever it was!!
Hey anderson110,
I would suggest to back up your tones using the HD500 edit application, then I would reinstall the latest flash memory v1.31 using the latest version of Line 6 Monkey 1.41. When asked if you would like to keep your presets select no, and proceed to update the flash memory.
Once this has finished you can then load your presets back on using HD500 Edit.
If you still have problem with engaging the tuner with the tap tempo foot switch after reinstalling the flash memory, please have a local Line 6 Service Center assess the unit for you. You may find one in your area by following the link below:
