I am concerned because.... it is obvious the outer box it came in had serial number stickers on it, BUT they were removed. ( they are none now, only the marks lefts from their removal)
Also, on the opposite side of the box another sticker was removed and also pulled material from the box finish.
There is no serial number on the bottom of the reciever unit....and I do not see a serial number designation on the transmitter.
I bought the unit from a company called Cobrsonics ( las Vegas? ) via ebay. It was shipped from a company called Unified Music Group from Studio City, CA
Concerned it might be a B-stock itemor who knows? ( it was fully described as new and not B-stock, etc etc.)
or....?
Please let me know whow I can figure it out and avoid getting ripped off or sold a stolen item?
thanks mcuh!
Have you tried contacting the seller directly??
I know the seller you are talking about and they have a very good feedback rating. I'm sure they would not have recevied such a high rating with ripping customers off.
I too bought a G50 from them. It has not arrived, but now you have me a little worried. I will report back when mine arrives.
I have however bought a G30 from them and it was fine. No indication on the box that stickers had been removed, box had been opened et as you describe. It also works perfectly, except for one venue I play at, but that may not be the fault of the G30.
I also read through all their feedback and it was all good, so I went ahead with the purchase. The only real complaint people had was that shipping sometimes took a bit longer, but that is not necessarily the fault of the seller.
I was a bit skeptical though since their price was consistently lower than all the other sellers on Ebay and they only seemed to pop up every now and then with a single unit to sell.Their feedback seemed to check out though. Many people have praised them on a great product for a great price, so it seemed that they consistently offered good prices on all their gear.
Have you actually tried the G50 to see if it actually works??
I would contact the seller, explain your concerns and see what they say. Make sure you point out all the 'flaws' you have found (attach photos if necessary) and compare it back to their listing where they say "brand new, never opened etc etc".
As a last restort you can contact Paypal and proceed with a 'goods not as described' dispute for a transaction reversal. I would contact the seller first and wait for their response.
Hello,
The serial number is a requirement for warranty service. Here is the clause from the warranty statement:

Products that have been altered such that the serial number, name, identification numbers or logos have been tampered with or are missing. Products that have been modified from the original design. Damages incurred during transit. You should contact the shipper for proper claims procedures in the event of damage or loss resulting from shipment. When returning products to Line 6 for repair or replacement, you assume all risk of loss or damage until such time as the product is accepted by Line 6 or Line 6’s authorized service center. Damages incurred from un-authorized adjustment, repair or service by anyone other than Line 6 or Line 6’s authorized service centers. Damages incurred from physical abuse (such as dropping the product) of the product. Damages incurred by fire, flood, earthquake, water, wind, lightning or other natural disaster. Damages incurred by liquid contamination. Damages incurred from excessive high or low temperature or humidity. Damages incurred from inappropriate storage. Physically damaged connectors. Damage incurred from any use of the product in any application other than the use for which it was intended.

I find myself in th exact situation you describe. I have a g50 with no dial stickers on the box from cobra sonics. I got it today. Did you ever get in touch with them?
Well, this whole situation is interesting. I too just received a unit from Cobrasonics. Did a search on Google to try and locate serial numbers and found this post.
It is factory sealed but sticker on side of box has been removed and there are no stickers where serial numbers should be.
Customer is allegedly a LIne 6 dealer. Would be nice if Line 6 would either confirm or deny, versus plastering their 'you're screwed' warranty not once but twice on this thread to make a point. Not exactly the warmest way to show that LIne 6 cares about their customers.
I have sent a PM to the seller requesting resolution. I am inclined to hold their feet to the fire on a unit with full factory warranty as advertised.
We'll see how it goes and I will return to post a resolution, be it refund or new unit with serial numbers.
Makes me feel like I bought something that fell off the back of a truck and I am way to old for shenanigans of any kind !
