Best way to connect stompbox to HD500

I have a pigtronix philosophers sustain stomp that I want to try out with my HD500. What is the best way any of you have found to connect such devices? Through the fx send and return? Aux in? Or maybe even just use a patch cable at the units guitar input?

You can patch it into the FX loop or between the guitar and the Pod's guitar input. Whatever works/sounds best for you is the way to go. Personally I patch my stomps into the FX loop and get outstanding results.
