JTV 59 Switch not working for models

I have a brand new JTV 59 and when I try to switch between models the toggle switch doesn't work. I've heard this reported a lot. Do I have to take it in to a service center?

I 've the same problem. Got a brand new jtv 59 and after one week the guitar is now switching models by itself or not at all. As I life in New Zealand, it makes no sense to send it back to the states.
Extremely dissappointing. For me the guitar is basically now useless. Is there a possibility to get a new switch or some kind of replacement, I have no problem to change it by myself as I have done lots of guitar modifications by myself in the last 30 years. Problems like this shouldn't happen in this price class!!
